Welcome from the IBDP Coordinator

Welcome from the IBDP Coordinator

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
Welcome to the International Baccalaureate Programme at KISU!
I am delighted to extend a warm and enthusiastic welcome to all our new and returning students and families. As the IB Coordinator and College Counsellor, I am honoured to be a part of this exceptional community and thrilled to embark on an exciting academic journey with each one of you.

The International Baccalaureate program is a challenging and rewarding educational experience designed to empower our students to become lifelong learners, compassionate individuals, and global citizens. Throughout this programme, our students will develop critical thinking skills, engage in rigorous academic pursuits and explore their passions.

Our dedicated team of educators is committed to supporting every student along this transformative journey. They will nurture your intellectual curiosity, encourage you to take risks in your learning, and provide guidance as you navigate through the complexities of the IB curriculum. Our aim is not only to prepare you for success in your examinations but also to equip you with the skills and attitudes necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world.

For our new students, I want to assure you that you have joined a school that values your unique talents, passions, and aspirations. The IB Programme will provide you with the tools to explore and develop your full potential, preparing you for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

To our returning students, welcome back! Your continued dedication to excellence and commitment to personal growth inspire us all. This year will undoubtedly bring new challenges and exciting discoveries, and we look forward to witnessing your continued growth as leaders and academics within our school community.

Parents and guardians, we recognise the vital role you play in your child’s education. Your partnership and involvement in their learning journey are invaluable. We encourage open communication and collaboration between home and school, as it enhances the educational experience for our students and strengthens the sense of community that makes KISU so special.

As we begin this new academic year, let us embrace the IB learner profile attributes – inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, and reflective. These qualities will guide us in creating a positive and compassionate learning environment that nurtures and celebrates the uniqueness of each individual.

Should you have any questions or require any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or a member of the IB Team.

Best wishes for an outstanding year ahead!

Yours sincerely,

Daniel Grimshawe
