Dan Grimshawe serves as the School Director at KISU. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from Lancaster University, which included a year of study at Binghamton University, New York, and went on to complete a PGCE in Art and Design at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Before joining KISU, Dan taught in both the UK and Kuwait. He is currently undertaking his NPQH and has held several leadership roles throughout his career, including IB Coordinator, Head of College Counselling, and Head of Secondary.
As School Director, Dan is responsible for the overall strategic vision and operational leadership of KISU. He is committed to creating a school environment that combines academic excellence, creativity, and student wellbeing. Working closely with staff, students, and parents, he ensures that the curriculum remains relevant, challenging, and responsive to the demands of an ever-changing global landscape.
Dan’s educational philosophy centres on creating safe, nurturing, and intellectually stimulating environments where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. He is a strong advocate for holistic development, critical thinking, and global awareness. His leadership is guided by the principle that every child, regardless of background, deserves the best possible educational experience.
